How this site uses your information
We collect as little personal information as reasonably possible and explain the purpose before you submit it.
Petition
We collect your name, email address, broad resident category and optionally the first three characters of your postal code. Your email is used to verify that one person submitted the signature and to contact you only about the signature if necessary. Your email is never displayed publicly. Your name is displayed only if you explicitly select the public-name option.
Independent survey
We collect an email address to reduce duplicate responses. The email is not published. Survey results are reported in aggregate.
Comments and evidence
Comments and submitted sources are moderated before publication. Email addresses are retained for verification or follow-up and are not displayed. If you consent to public display, only the display name and content you provided are shown.
Data minimization
We do not ask for a full street address, date of birth, government identifier or other unnecessary sensitive information. The server may process an IP address for security and rate limiting; the application stores only a one-way keyed hash rather than the raw IP address.
Sharing
Aggregate survey results and verified petition totals may be shared publicly and with the Town of Tillsonburg and Council. Individual petition names may be included in a petition submission only where the signer has agreed to be represented as a signer. Email addresses are not intended for public release.
Retention and withdrawal
You may request removal of your petition signature, survey response, comment or evidence submission by contacting info@keepannandalegreen.ca. Data should be retained only as long as needed for the community engagement purpose and any necessary record of the submission.
